Bohemian Rainbow Brite

I've been knitting for about 5 years now. Mostly baby hats, booties and the occasional toy. So, I've decided to break out of baby mode and start making things for me. I'm working on a super cute sweater - forecast (with a few alterations from Pincu -Thanks!!!) which I'll have to post soon. It's looking really cute so far. The other item I'm working on just didn't turn out. In fact I'm thinking it's pretty ugly.

I present to you Bohemian Rainbow Brite Fingerless Mitts aka fetching.

The yarn is so gorgeous it's Rowan Tapestry but I just don't like them knitted up as fingerless mitts. Oh well. My other mistake was that I knitted this when I was sleepy and I misread the instructions making the cable portion much larger than it should have been. I think I will knit the other one. I might as well.
